Embracing Tomorrow: A Culinary Adventure at People of Tomorrow 2.0

In this blog post, I explore People of Tomorrow 2.0, India's first all vegan restro-speakeasy in New Delhi.

As I stepped into the vibrant streets of Basant Lok Market in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, I could feel the anticipation bubbling inside me. Today marked my first visit to People of Tomorrow, fondly known as POT 2.0, the country's pioneering all-vegan restro-speakeasy. Having heard rave reviews about its innovative cuisine and sustainable ethos, I couldn't wait to embark on this gastronomic journey.

People of Tomorrow

As I approached the entrance, I was immediately struck by the harmonious blend of modernity and rustic charm. The facade, adorned with natural materials and earthy tones, exuded an inviting warmth. It was evident that every element of the restaurant was thoughtfully curated, from the repurposed canvas fabric to the eco-conscious flooring.

People of Tomorrow

Stepping inside, I was greeted by a wave of tranquility. The interior, designed by the talented Ayushi Malik, was a testament to minimalist elegance. Fluid forms and gentle curves created a sense of fluidity, while the subdued lighting cast a soft glow, enveloping the space in an aura of serenity.

As I made my way to the dining area, I couldn't help but admire the attention to detail. Natural terracotta textures adorned the walls, seamlessly extending to the table lamps, while curved edges added a touch of sophistication. It was evident that POT 2.0 was not just a restaurant but a sanctuary for mindful dining.

Head Chef Tashyaa Mehrotra

Taking a seat at my table, I eagerly went through the menu, brimming with tantalizing vegan delights curated by a team of visionary chefs. From Parsi favorites by Chef Anahita Dhondy to Mexican-inspired dishes by Chef Surabhi Sehgal, the menu promised a culinary adventure like no other.

Gomae Salad

For starters, I decided to indulge in the Gomae Salad, a symphony of flavors featuring a sesame-based dressing topped with a tofu-cucumber crown. The freshness of the ingredients danced on my palate, setting the stage for the culinary delights to come.

Tomatoes of Tomorrow

Next up was the Tomatoes of Tomorrow, a zero-waste dish crafted with creamy stracciatella, confit tomatoes, and tomato jerky. Each bite was a revelation, showcasing the versatility of plant-based ingredients in creating indulgent dishes.

Biang Biang Noodles

As the evening unfolded, I savored every morsel, from the Biang Biang noodles tossed in an intense blend of chili and garlic to the indulgent Melting Fungi Focaccia, adorned with wild mushroom duxelle and truffle oil.

No meal would be complete without dessert, and POT 2.0 certainly delivered with its Caramel Hot Chocolate Fudge, a decadent treat featuring a warm brownie served with Biscoff ice cream and coconut caramel.

Basil Smash

Of course, no visit to POT 2.0 would be complete without sampling their signature cocktails. From the refreshing Basil Smash to the classic Tommy's Margarita, each drink was a testament to the creativity and skill of the mixologist.

Tommy's Margarita

As I bid farewell to People of Tomorrow, I couldn't help but feel inspired by their commitment to sustainability and culinary innovation. In a world where conscious dining is more important than ever, POT 2.0 stands as a beacon of hope, inviting food enthusiasts from all walks of life to join the movement towards a more compassionate and sustainable future.
