Unveiling Call Chotu's First Offline Space: The Brand New Chic All-day Diner Everyone’s Talking About!

In this blog post, I explore Call Chotu - An All-day Diner in Sector 6, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi.

When I heard that Call Chotu, the beloved cloud kitchen brand, was launching its first offline space in Southern Park, Saket, I knew I had to check it out. Known for their diverse and comforting menu, Call Chotu has been a favorite for online ordering since 2019, and now they've brought their culinary magic to a physical location: Call Chotu - All Day Diner & Bar in Sector 6, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi.

Stepping into Chotu's Diner was like entering a cozy yet chic haven. The ambiance immediately struck me as inviting and playful, with swings for seating that let you watch the world go by and a vibrant mural depicting scenes from Chotu's Diner. One of the walls is adorned with vintage telephones in pop colors, sparking a sense of nostalgia. It's a place that effortlessly blends whimsy with charm, making it perfect for any occasion, whether it's a quick breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or unwinding after work.

The concept and curation of Chotu's Diner are the brainchildren of Chef Chiquita Gulati and her husband, Sumit Gulati. With a culinary lineage from the family behind the legendary Gulati Restaurant at Pandara Road, Chef Chiquita has brought her expertise and flair to create a menu that's both comforting and exciting.

One of the highlights of Chotu's Diner is the live bakery, which churns out their signature 'light as air' ladi pav and kulchas every hour. The aroma of freshly baked pav was enough to stir my hunger. The menu features an array of street food favorites from across India, like Chaat, Momos, Kebabs, and Rolls, alongside global comfort foods such as Asian Stir Fries, Thai Curries, Naan-Pizzas, and Tacos. There's also the nostalgic Mummy ki Macaroni and hearty Restaurant wala Indian Khana.

During my visit, I indulged in several dishes that left a lasting impression:

1. Kulche Chholey: The soft kulchas paired perfectly with the rich and flavorful chholey.

2. Palak Patta Chaat: Crisp spinach leaves topped with tangy and spicy chaat toppings made for an irresistible starter.

3. Mini Galouti Pav: These melt-in-the-mouth pavs with a succulent galouti kebab were a revelation.

4. Vada Pav: This classic comfort food—a fried potato fritter sandwiched between soft buns and served with green chutney—was an instant hit.

5. Drums of Heaven: Juicy and perfectly spiced, these chicken drumsticks were heavenly indeed.

A standout dish and a must-try at the diner is the Mumbai Vada Pav. Chef Chiquita, who introduced this iconic dish to Delhi over a decade ago, has now created a variety of signature Pav Burgers, including the incredibly soft and flavorful Galouti Pav.

To complement the diverse menu, master mixologist Yangdup Lama has crafted signature cocktails that pair wonderfully with the food. Whether you're dining solo, with friends, or with family, Chotu's Diner offers something for everyone.

Chef Chiquita launched Call Chotu five years ago to cater to all tastes, from kebabs to momo and butter chicken to chowmein. With Chotu's All Day Diner & Bar, she brings her unique spin on popular dishes to the table. The menu celebrates comfort, featuring everything from classic Indian dishes to mouthwatering Asian cuisines and freshly baked breads.

The diner is currently open from 11 AM to 1 AM, with plans to start serving breakfast soon. The approximate cost for two is INR 1,000, excluding liquor, which I found to be quite reasonable given the quality and variety of food offered.

Call Chotu has successfully transitioned from a cloud kitchen to a vibrant offline space, bringing their trusted delivery brand's comfort and deliciousness to an in-person dining experience. Whether you're in casual leisurewear, elegant office attire, or dressed for a night out, Call Chotu welcomes you with open arms and a plate full of joy.

So, next time you're in Saket, do yourself a favor and drop by Chotu's All Day Diner & Bar. Trust me, it's worth the visit.
