Imly's New Outlet In Gurugram Is Super Lit

In this blog post, I cover Imly's new outlet in SS Plaza, Sector 47, Gurugram.

Delhi, the quintessential food capital of India, never ceases to surprise. Delhiites love their street food. Imagine if you were to binge on your favorite Chole Bhature, Paav Bhaji, Banta Shikanji, Palak Patta Chaat, and many more in a restaurant-like setting, how cool would that be!

I admire restaurateur Varun Puri's vision of Imly, to serve authentic vegetarian street food from all across India under a roof. And the fact that he now has several outlets speaks volumes of how successful the brand has been.

My first visit to Imly goes back to 2015 when I reviewed their newly opened quick-service restaurant in Rajendra Place, New Delhi. Back then, Imly offered a wide array of healthy and hygienic vegetarian street food options from all across the country. Now Imly has outlets in Gurugram, Noida, Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Ashok Vihar, Pitam Pura, and Preet Vihar.

Earlier this week, I visited Imly's new outlet in SS Plaza, Sector 47, Gurugram, previously home to another restaurant called Swad - Desh Videsh Ka. Continuing the tradition of romanticizing street food through quirky presentation, pocket-friendly prices, and pleasant ambiance, Imly checks all the boxes right in its new avatar.

Imly's new menu continues to enthrall with exciting dishes like the Cheese Burst Dosa, Tandoori Momos, etc. In a city like Gurugram, where vegetarian food without alcohol is not an option for dining out, Imly makes a good case for change. In fact, the success of Imly has proven that old Indian recipes are getting back on the menus. Ethnic flavors are returning to modern restaurants, and beverages are going through an extreme level of experimenting.

At its heart, Imly remains a casual dining restaurant. But look closely, and you will see a street food snapshot of the entire country. From Chowpatty's pav bhaji to Chandi Chowk's fruit kulla chaat, from Lucknow's dum tikka to Indore's poha, from Kolkata's phuchka to Chennai's ‘Madras ki Bhatti’, I can go on and on.

A visit to Imly is no less than a street food carnival. Every dish comes alive in irresistibly familiar aromas, colors, textures, and flavors.

Imly seems to have perfected the everlasting recipe of finger-licking street food. Therefore, a visit to their new outlet in Gurugram becomes absolutely mandatory.
