A Staycation At DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel Agra Is The Perfect Break From The Daily Grind

In this blog post, I cover DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Agra.

Thinking of going on a staycation this weekend but running short of options? Post pandemic, everyone wants to travel and step out of their house, even if it is for a short time.

I, for one, have just returned from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Agra, and this has got to be my best staycation hands down. The hotel is nearly 3 km away from the iconic Taj Mahal. In fact, the famous landmark is so effing close that you can get some remarkable Instagram-worthy views from the infinity pool itself. Being in the heart of Agra also means you're just a stone's throw from the historic Agra Fort. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan spent his last days as a prisoner in the same fort. And while you're at it, you could also visit the Itmad-ud-Daula (a. k. a. the Baby Taj).

I stayed for two nights in their elegant one-bedroom suite, which offers pool views, a living room, sofa, dining table, rain shower, and bathtub. The pampering is of the highest order, and the staff goes out of their way to make your stay memorable.

I loved their attention to detail. The front desk knew I was traveling from Gurugram with family and offered everyone freshly-baked cookies and welcome drinks on arrival. After the super cute gesture and a hassle-free check-in, I was escorted to my suite on the second floor.

Presidential Suite Bedroom

To say that the suite was beautiful would be such an understatement.

The chic suite features individual-controlled air-conditioning, WiFi, a 42-inch flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a mini-bar, and a large writing desk with an ergonomic chair.

After taking a restful night's sleep in the king-sized bed, it was time for me to laze in the infinity pool.

Don't worry if you're not an early morning person; enjoy the in-room dining experience like breakfast in bed, relax in your bathroom in a standalone bathtub or simply enjoy a walk-in shower.

In the evening, I headed straight to the Akasa spa inside the hotel premises for a deep tissue massage. My massage therapist used slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of my muscles and connective tissues.

Akasa is India's fastest-growing spa management firm which provides beauty and wellbeing services from skilled specialists.

If you're a fitness freak, don't forget to take advantage of the 24-hour well-equipped fitness center.

The hotel is wheelchair-friendly and provides babysitting services, including cribs and high chairs for children. Other facilities include a 24-hour business center, a multi-function hall, and a ballroom.

Coming to my favorite topic, food, I recommend visiting Kebab-e-que, an Indian specialty restaurant with live cooking stations and a tandoori kitchen.

Kebab-e-que offers a unique fine-dining dinner experience.

Other dining options include North 27 - the all-day dining restaurant, Plush Bar - the 24-hour lounge bar, and Food Store - the all-day cafe. North 27 serves a multi-cuisine buffet and à la carte menu, with live cooking stations and courtyard views. The Plush Bar is open 24 hours.
