#OutOfOffice with Ballantine's was an epic night of cocktails and rib-tickling music, as Vir Das' band Alien Chutney took to the center stage and had us all in splits.

Ballantine's has always been committed to bringing in the finest Scotch whiskey since 1827; at #OOO, we witnessed the true balance of Ballantine's finest blends, Tokyo, for instance, was well received and emerged a clear crowd favorite.

The venue, Monkey Bar, was incredibly lit up with clever creatives and witty captions, simply perfect IMHO for the Friday night retreat. But this was just the start; the inventive photo opportunities ensured that there was never a dull moment.

As the crowd started to settle in, eager in anticipation of what was going to follow, Alan Clark who is the brand ambassador of Ballantine's came on stage to introduce Vir Das and his band Alien Chutney, much to the delight of everyone in attendance.

Known to create original compositions with absolutely insane lyrics, the band struck a chord with one and all by being completely arbid yet entirely relatable. On one hand, they churned out tributes to Himesh Reshammiya, on other hand they brought the house down with a punk song about all the bad dancers out there.

Their music has a tinseled charm and unabashed sentimentality, covering a range of varied subjects - from the difference between Delhi and Bombay girls to a Blues song about village men - they seem to know it all!

If the songs don't crack you up, the band's constant interaction with the audience, and among themselves, definitely will.

The performance ended to a thunderous applause, and seconds later, a large section of the crowd swarmed the stage to click selfies with the ace comic Vir Das. Clearly, #OOO was a night to remember with one of its kind concept.

  2. Vir Das is amazing no matter if it's his stand up comedy or musical gigs. We have had great time covering his BoardingDAS India Tour a couple of years back. He's the first generation of Indian stand up comics.

  4. Wow thats amazing. I had attended Vir Das's comedy show in Sydney a long time ago and must say it was a laughing riot. But not a musical band, that will surely be fun to attend. I will keep this in mind.
