Come, Fall in Love with Nowhere - The New Terrace, Brewpub, and Cafe in Gurgaon

In this blog post, I review a new food property in the heart of Gurgaon called Nowhere, which I happened to discover perchance last month.

On November 18, 2016, HarperCollins India arranged a book reading of Yashodhara Lal's new book, When Love Finds You, at Nowhere Gurgaon. Yashodhara is a dear friend, and more importantly, India's favorite author of bestsellers like Just Married and Please Excuse. I went to Nowhere primarily for her book launch, but sometime during the event, I was introduced to Sameer Dhar (42) who graciously extended an invite to review the brewpub.

The brainchild of popular restaurateur Sameer Dhar (who is also the man behind Escape Terrace Bar Kitchen), Nowhere is hailed for its terrace, brewpub, and cafe. If you're looking for a microbrewery with fully matured German beer, Nowhere is the place to be. Brewed exclusively with Fermentis Dry Yeast and Weyermann Specialty Malts, the German beer at Nowhere is to die for ... I kid you not!

But wait, that's just the beginning of your culinary experience!

After introducing Radler, Orange Wit, and Honey Spicy Ale for the first time in Gurgaon, Nowhere is now going to unveil the Red Smokey Lager from Germany (under maturation currently).

Sameer credits the success of his microbrewery to Rahul Baliyan, the expert brewer who is associated with Nowhere since November 2015.

To jazz up operations, Sameer has hired two chefs for multi cuisine food (Jitendra and Anil), one mixologist (Bharat), and one floor manager (Arvind). Apart from these few good men, Sameer's army is comprised of 42 personnel, including the service/kitchen/housekeeping staff, etc.

What impressed me other than the open terrace and microbrewery was the co-working space inside Nowhere that can easily accommodate nearly 30 people (woah!). At INR 99 per day, you could rent a comfortable space to work while avail tea/coffee (DIY), snacks, and high-speed free WiFi. There are enough plug points for your laptops and smartphones. To unwind, you can either play a game of foosball or try the board games with your colleagues.

Now that's a steal if you were to ask me!

I was quite intrigued by the decor at Nowhere. Rustic barrel laden walls with quirky labels set the tone of things to come. The ceiling is another revelation - ten thousand beer pints hung forever - offering a perfect picture opportunity.

The terrace is laden with green on all sides. You can't get a better view of the Gurgaon skyline than Nowhere's terrace, trust me on that! Also, most of what I saw there is created from raw/recycled materials.

Nowhere has a total cover of 280, which is huge as compared to other restaurants inside the premises of Cross Point Mall. Another highlight is the live Sufi band, Suboni Brothers, which performs to a packed house every Thursday 8 pm onwards.

Did you know that Nowhere is the largest single-floor plate area brewpub in Gurgaon? The entire space is partitioned into various zones to render a unique experience for patrons.

Coming to food, visit Nowhere to savor the All-Day Breakfast (served from 9 am onwards) to midnight starters and main course.

My favorite food item is the Murthal Paratha but I never miss out on an opportunity to order the winter special Pan Cakes and Waffles.

They also house the finest collection of drinks in their fully stocked bar. Go for the infused cocktails, Lavazza Coffee, Masala Tea, or fully matured beer - you're probably spoilt for choices. Try the Cinco De Mayo, a classic mocktail at Nowhere that contains a mix of cranberry and apple juice with fruit chunks.

Spend a lazy weekend wintery morning at Nowhere, or better, be a part of the special events curated especially for people like you and me - that is the well read and well traveled. From book launches to live bands to corporate and startup events, most days are eventful at Nowhere.

And just like that, in the middle of erstwhile Gurgaon, you'll come and fall in love with Nowhere, the same way like I did!
